Skin lesion removal is the term used for the procedure where various spots and marks on the skin are removed. It is most commonly used to remove moles, age spots, skin tags and certain warts.
We use two main methods: hyfrecator and shave biopsy.
A hyfrecator (high frequency eradicator) is a commonly used electrosurgical device used to dry out and remove tissue and stop bleeding. Shave biopsy is when a small piece of skin is removed with a small sharp blade. Dr Hyams will determine if skin lesion removal is a suitable option and which method should be used.
