BBL FAQs
BBL photo rejuvenation evens out skin tone, treats pigmentation (freckles), discolouration, redness and broken capillaries. Your skin will also have a more refined texture, with pores reducing in size and an improvement in mild acne scarring.
BBL can be used to treat the face, neck, chest, hands and most other parts of the body. This is an ideal treatment for those with a more active lifestyle as the procedure requires minimal downtime with a low risk of side effects.
During the treatment, you may feel a slight sting similar to that of a small elastic band to the treated area.
To achieve maximum results, a series of 3 – 5 BBL treatments is recommended, depending on your skin condition, at 3 – 4 week intervals. You may require IPL to be used in conjunction with other treatments for ideal results.
Post treatment you may feel flushed and appear red, similar to that of an exercise workout. Brown age spots (pigmentation) will darken, as will vascular lesions (capillaries). This will clear anywhere from 3 to 10 days leaving the skin more even, refined and glowing.
We ask that you avoid direct sun exposure and the use of fake, chemical tans to the area to be treated during the course of BBL treatment.
BBL skin rejuvenation uses photothermal energy to gently heat the upper layers of the skin to regenerate skin cells. BBL (BroadBand Light) penetrates the tissue and is absorbed by either blood (vascular lesions/broken capillaries) or melanin (freckles) and denatures (damages) it.
The body’s natural processes will then remove the injured tissue, leaving the skin with a more even complexion and youthful looking appearance. BBL is also effective in the treatment of skin conditions such as rosacea and acne.
