Our Acne Treatment is for those who are needing help with the management of acne. We offer a custom designed treatment that will help target acne causing bacteria on the skin. This may be in addition to other treatment dependent on the grade of acne presenting.

How does it work?
At Skin Clinic, we will often prescribe many modalities for the treatment of acne or problem prone skin. All treatments will begin with a detailed consultation. The Teen Cleanse will focus on education and how best to care for your skin, while our acne treatment targets problem skin and its management. We also discuss advice on home care and lifestyle changes related to the skin and especially relevant to hormonal acne treatment.

What causes acne?
Acne is a very common skin condition that occurs when hair follicles get blocked with the oil that helps protect the skin. Dead skin cells, dirt and pollution mix with the blockage and this produces bacteria in the skin which multiply and cause spots.
What will happen during my treatment?
You will receive a deep cleanse and depending on how your skin presents on the day, you may receive a peeling treatment, extractions, LED lights or a combination of these.
How many Treatments will I need?
No two skins are alike.. Treatment is dependent on many variables including family history, grade of acne and length of time you have had acne. We measure acne in 90 day cycles.
What will I expect after my treatment?
You may be a little pink, similar to a light workout. This will subside in a few hours.
Can I Control my hormonal acne?
Yes. But you will still have flare ups, but you will find that they will heal faster with regular treatment.
Will my treatment hurt?
No it doesn’t. Extractions can sometimes be a little uncomfortable.
What should I do before and after my treatment?
This depends on the treatment prescribed for you on the day. Your clinician will advise you of this on the day.
