Trichloracetic Acid Peel – TCA
Using a combination of Trichloracetic Acid (TCA), Salicylic Acid, Citirc Acid, Vitamin A and Vitamin C to induce peeling of the skin to brighten, improve skin texture and irregularities as well as fine lines and pigmentation, deep lines and scarring. TCA peels can be used in varying strengths to minimise downtime and maximise results.

How does it work?
TCA Peels are offered in both superficial and medium depth peels in the clinic to treat sun damage, fine lines, pigmentation, mild acne, scarring and keratosis pilaris.

How many treatments will I need?
This is dependent on the strength used, with best results seen in 1-3 treatments at 4 week intervals.
Is It painful?
This treatment is not painful but you may feel a slight tingle in your skin.
What can I expect after my treatment?
You may experience a little redness immediately post treatment, with dryness and light shedding of the skin a few days later while the skin rejuvenates.
What should I do before and after my treatment?
Pre Treatment – You will be prescribed a vitamin A and a tyrosinase inhibitor to use 2 – 4 weeks prior to treatment by one of our clinicians to prepare your skin for peeling to avoid any adverse reactions. The use of SPF and sun compliance will be required.
Post Treatment – we will guide you on the use of homecare after your treatment to promote the healing phase of your skin.
What are the risks?
You may be a little red immediately after treatment. A few days after your peel you may experience dryness and light flaking while your skin regenerates. This peel is not suitable for pregnancy or breastfeeding.
