How does it work?
Prior to treatment, the area is cleaned and then numbed with a topical anaesthetic cream. The Medical Needling device is moved across the skin making tiny ‘micro’ channels in the outermost layers of the skin and creates microscopic injuries. It is these microscopic injuries that stimulate new collagen and elastin to rejuvenate the skin.

What are the risks associated with Medical Needling?
As there is no laser or light heat and, the risks are minimal and is recommended for sensitive and darker skin types. If performed by trained professionals, risks could include bruising or infection. At Skin Clinic @Blyss, our staff are highly trained clinicians to ensure the highest of care.
Is the treatment painful?
Due to the use of a topical anaesthetic, there is minimal discomfort.
What results can I expect?
You will see the real results with Medical Skin Needling 7 – 10 days after treatment, with increased results after each treatment. Best results are seen with a course of 3 – 4 treatments at 2 week intervals, with the production of new collagen continuing for up to 12 months post procedure.
What can I expect post treatment?
Skin will appear ‘flushed’, similar to having had a hard workout at the gym or moderate sunburn. You may have a mild tingling and skin tightness. This will subside within 24 – 48 hours. Skin may be dry and some will flake for a few days. We recommend the use of an anti-bacterial cleanser and an occluding balm for 5 days post treatment as well as a quality SPF.
